Job summary

WoodGreen Community Services in Toronto is seeking a Housing Services Coordinator to oversee day-to-day property management and tenant relations within subsidized housing. The role focuses on tenancy support, community development, and eviction-prevention measures to help residents maintain stable housing.

You will work onsite at 800 Vaughan Rd, collaborate with tenants and staff, and drive programs that promote safety, inclusivity, and meaningful tenant engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in social services with street involvement or low-income clients.
• Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and AODA.
• Property management experience including lease administration and rent collection.
• Experience with group facilitation and understanding of group dynamics.
• Demonstrated cultural competency with diverse communities and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Administrate RGI for tenants, including income reviews and notifications.
• Facilitate intake management; background checks, generate leases, and orientation.
• Collect rent, establish payment schedules, and follow up on arrears.
• Work with building services to maintain units and facilities.
• Educate tenants about maintenance responsibilities and tenancy agreements.
• Conduct assessments and assist tenants in identifying issues and needs.
• Facilitate tenant engagement in management and community development.
• Provide tenants with housing information, rights, and responsibilities.
• Facilitate tenant participation to develop standards, resolve conflicts, and address issues.
• Provide remedial support and access to resources for residents managing concerns.
• Intervene in crisis/conflict situations and mediate tenancy-related disputes.
• Work with tenants on issues impacting housing security.
• Identify barriers to tenancy maintenance.
• Operate from an eviction-prevention model with regular follow-ups.
• Develop community-building programs to engage residents and promote inclusivity.
• Assess social recreational needs and plan/deliver programs.
