Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. in Calgary, Alberta is offering an Estimating Student role for a 4–16 month term starting January 2027.

You will support the estimating team, review quantities, and help prepare bid packages while visiting job sites and building relationships with subcontractors. The position provides hands-on training, competitive wages and access to a broad benefits program as part of PCL’s College of Construction.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Knowledge of common software for word processing, spreadsheets and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply estimating manuals, systems and forms.
• Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Perform assigned quantity surveys.
• Provide quantities of major purchase items to purchasing for pricing.
• Transfer quantities to lead estimator.
• Bid document control.
• Perform bid day assignments.
• Visit job sites periodically.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.

The estimated salary range for this role isbased on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
