Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Kelowna, BC, is seeking an Engineering Student for the BC Region. You will support project teams in scheduling, drawing coordination, and field documentation while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and assisting with progress tracking using Primavera P6 and AutoCAD. A strong interest in construction and basic drafting skills are desired.

Qualifications

• Desire to work in a construction environment.
• Experience with word processing and spreadsheets.
• Drafting experience or familiarity with design software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and scope/trades/sub-trades.
• Review quotes for materials, hours and rates.
• Participate in project meetings and update logs.
• Complete deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties as needed.
• Capture progress photos and maintain field drawings.
• Produce as-built drawings and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate drawings.
• Set up and maintain records.
• Update project schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM.
• Create and maintain scheduling graphics in AutoCAD.
• Monitor workforce productivity.

Here’s how an Engineering Studentfor PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. within BC Region contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
• Participation in project meetings
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs
• Issues warranties
• Takes/coordinates progress photos
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
• Performance of quantity takeoffs
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
• Set-up and maintenance of records
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Monitoring of workforce productivity

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
