Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in BC Region – Kelowna office is seeking an Engineering Student to support project teams on drawings, trade scopes, and scheduling using Primavera P6 and AutoCAD. You will assist with coordinating work, reviewing quantities, attending meetings, and maintaining logs.

This role offers hands-on field and office exposure, with wages between $22.26 and $27.30 per hour, and growth opportunities through PCL’s College of Construction and related training programs.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and drafting software is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and scope/trades/sub-trades for the project.
• Contribute to trade quote reviews by verifying quantities, hours and rates.
• Participate in project meetings and update deficiency logs.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling and update project schedules.

Here’s how an Engineering Studentfor PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. within BC Region contributes to our team:

• Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
• Participation in project meetings
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs
• Issues warranties
• Takes/coordinates progress photos
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
• Performance of quantity takeoffs
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
• Set-up and maintenance of records
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Monitoring of workforce productivity

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
