Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. invites applications for an Engineering Student position in the Winnipeg district, within the Canadian Buildings sector, starting January 2027. This is a 4 month term with potential to extend to 8 or 12 months.

The role supports coordinating drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and assisting in project meetings. Candidates should be eager to work in construction and be proficient with drafting tools and project software.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field experience asset.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate drawings and scope/trades/sub-trades.
• Review trade quotes by verifying quantities, hours and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Complete deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and create as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate drawings.
• Set up and maintain records.
• Update project schedules and create manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
• Monitor workforce productivity.
