Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an Engineering Student for our Winnipeg district in the Canadian Buildings sector. The role starts in January 2027 for a four-month term, with potential to extend to eight or twelve months.

You will coordinate drawings, assist with field work, and participate in project meetings while gaining exposure to Primavera P6 and AutoCAD in a real construction environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in working in a construction environment and prior field construction experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with drafting, word processing and spreadsheet programs is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and scope for trades/sub-trades.
• Review quantity takeoffs, hours and rates for trade quotes.
• Participate in project meetings and update deficiency logs.
• Take/coordinate progress photos and maintain field drawings.

Join us as an Engineering Student for our Winnipeg district, within our Canadian Buildings sector starting in January 2027. This is a 4 month term with potential to extend to 8 or 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
• Participation in project meetings
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs.
• Issues warranties
• Takes/coordinates progress photos
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
• Performance of quantity takeoffs
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
• Set-up and maintenance of records
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software.
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Monitoring of workforce productivity

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
