Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia, is seeking Estimating Students for our BC Region district within the Canadian Buildings Division. Positions run 4–12 months starting January 2027, under the supervision of an Estimator.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications; drafting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Perform assigned quantity surveying duties and transfer quantities for pricing.
• Assist with bid document control and bid day assignments.
• Visit job sites periodically and develop relationships with subcontractors.

Here’s how an Estimating Student for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. within BC Region contributes to our team:

• Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms
• Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
• Performing assigned quantity survey
• Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
• Transferring quantities to lead estimator
• Bid document control
• Performing bid day assignments
• Visiting job sites periodically
• Developing relationships with subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
