Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Kelowna is seeking an Estimating Student for the BC Region within our Canadian Buildings Division, available for 4–12 months starting January 2027. The position reports to an Estimator and supports quantity surveying, estimating processes and bid day activities.

Pay range is $22.26–$27.30 per hour, with wages determined by completed terms, relevant work terms, and location. A hands-on role with growth opportunities and access to world-class training is offered.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Prior field construction experience is an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

• Understand and utilize estimating manuals, systems and forms.
• Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Perform assigned quantity survey tasks.
• Provide quantities of major purchase items to pricing teams.
• Transfer quantities to lead estimator.
• Support bid document control and bid day assignments.
• Visit job sites periodically and develop subcontractor relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
