Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks a mechanical engineer to participate in design and execution of multidisciplinary projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. You’ll join our team focused on thermal systems and industrial building services, developing skills in HVAC, energy recovery, pumping, ventilation and fire protection.

You’ll collaborate with experts, support proposals and study reports, mentor colleagues and coordinate draughting work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or building services
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in building services (HVAC), heat recovery, thermal power systems
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Advanced English and French skills to collaborate with offices and clients in Canada; ability to draft bilingual technical documents
• Asset: experience in the industrial sector

Responsibilities

• Design systems for building services (HVAC, power, heat recovery) and approve related documents
• Work on innovation projects involving decarbonization and energy recovery in the industrial sector
• Develop trusting business relationships with clients and partners
• Assist in proposals and study reports
• Manage technical portions of projects (design reviews, costs, schedules)
• Coordinate draughting and other team members' work
• Support less experienced staff with technical tasks

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical engineering or building services program
• From three to eight years of relevant experience in building services (HVAC), heat recovery, thermal power systems, cooling systems
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages
• Asset: relevant experience in the industrial sector
