Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking an Engineer, HVAC Building Services in Mont-Saint-Hilaire or Montreal, QC, Canada. The role involves designing HVAC and related systems for industrial projects, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and contributing to decarbonization and energy recovery initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 3–8 years of experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong English/French skills to support projects across Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or building services.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in building services (HVAC), heat recovery and related thermal power systems.
• Strong English and French language skills to collaborate with teams across Canada.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to draft technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Design building services (HVAC, power, cooling and heating loops, heat recovery) systems and approve related engineering documents.
• Collaborate on innovation projects in decarbonization and energy recovery for the industrial sector.
• Develop trusting, high-quality client relationships and support proposals.
• Lead and manage technical portions of projects (design reviews, costs, schedules).
• Prepare, draft and produce study reports for internal and client use.
• Assist less experienced staff with technical aspects of complex tasks.
• Coordinate the work of drafters and other team members.

Your role will be to participate in engineering, selecttechnology and execute mechanical and multidisciplinary projects in the mining,energy and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be part of our team specialized inthermal systems and industrial building services. You’ll work with experts andbe exposed to a wide range of situations to develop your technical skills inpumping, energy recovery, ventilation, heating, air conditioning, plumbing andpiping, fire protection, compressed air, dust collection, generators andtheirfuel for various industrial applications. You’ll be using your leadershipskills every day, whether it’s to develop trusting relationships with ourpartners, train the next generation or work with a passionate team.

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical engineering or building services program
• From three to eight years of relevant experience in building services (HVAC), heat recovery, thermal power systems, cooling systems
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages
• Asset: relevant experience in the industrial sector
