Job summary

BBA is seeking a designer to deliver engineering projects in the mining, hydropower and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be based in the Greater Montréal area with a hybrid schedule and will design piping systems, develop 3D models, and produce isometric drawings for industrial projects.

You’ll use AutoCAD, CADWorx, SolidWorks and Navisworks, collaborating with internal teams across offices. A college diploma in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mining/metals or heavy industry sectors.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, CADWorx, SolidWorks and Navisworks.
• Advanced English to collaborate with other offices and clients; Advanced French for Québec clients.
• Nice-to-have knowledge of SmartPlant.

• Deliver high-quality service and build relationships with internal clients.

As a designer, you’ll help deliver engineering projects, select technology and implement projects in the mining, hydropower and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be based at one of our offices in the Greater Montréal area. You’ll also play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables.

• Deliver high-quality service and build strong relationships with internal clients by contributing to various piping design projects in the mining, oil, chemicals, biofuels and power generation sectors

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or another relevant field
• At least five years of experience relevant to the position
• Experience in the mining and metals or heavy industry sectors
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, CADWorx, SolidWorks and Navisworks software
• Excellent knowledge of current computer applications such as the MS Office Suite, databases and interfaces
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Asset: good knowledge of SmartPlant
