Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Montréal or Mont-Saint-Hilaire. You will lead design efforts, select technology, and drive projects in mining, hydropower and heavy industry from concept to on-site commissioning.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical engineering technology.
• Six to ten years of experience.
• Experience with 3D design.
• Available to travel between Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal offices.
• Advanced French and English for collaboration with offices/clients in Québec and other provinces.
• Experience in heavy industry (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.).
• Knowledge of piping, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanized welding and structural engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, Navisworks, Ansys and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models of systems and equipment.
• Produce and review general arrangement, detailed, and installation drawings for mechanical systems.
• Coordinate technical activities with project stakeholders to meet schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges.

Your future role on our team

Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of major electrical engineering projects, from the start of the business relationship to onsite equipment commissioning.

Type of position: Regular

As a designer, you’ll help deliver engineering projects, select technology and implement projects in the mining, hydropower and heavy industry sectors. You’ll work at our Montréal or Mont-Saint-Hilaire office. You’ll also play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables.

• Design and develop 3D models of various systems and equipment
• Work with point clouds (3D laser scanning data) to develop solutions tailored to existing site conditions.
• Participate in the selection and integration of mechanical equipment based on project technical requirements.

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• College diploma in mechanical engineering technology
• Six to ten years of experience
• Experience with 3D design
• Available to travel occasionally between the Mont-Saint-Hilaire and/or Montréal offices
• Available for short assignments at client sites
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Advanced English to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
• Asset: knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, Navisworks, Ansys and AutoCAD applications
• Asset: knowledge of piping, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanized welding and structural engineering
