YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Manager, PMO, the Project Planner & Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed schedules to evaluate, plan, and manage projects. This position ensures that project schedules are continuously developed through the stage gate phases, representing an accurate and achievable plan that incorporates stakeholder inputs and operational requirements. Additionally, this role supports the Portfolio Planning & Reporting Analyst in the Owners Team Workforce plans, including Time Tracking for the overall portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain study, project execution, and commissioning schedules aligned with the overall project portfolio.
- Perform analyses of baselined schedules for risks, critical path, and earned value management.
- Coordinate project-specific schedule risk assessment activities to support Study & Project Managers and risk owners.
- Establish high-level project timelines, milestones, deadlines, and resources during project intake and portfolio planning to support midterm planning.
- Provide input into study and execution plans, incorporating approved plans into the project schedule.
- Track, review, and incorporate (once approved) project schedule changes (e.g., design changes, scope changes, procurement delays) and report according to the governance framework.
- Contribute to establishing KSPC scheduling standards and best practices, aligned with the K+S Organization Handbook and Project Management Manual.
- Evaluate third-party contractor schedules and perform schedule audits.
- Administer and monitor actual progress versus planned progress and KPIs, including bar charts, s-curves, manpower histograms, and schedule performance indexes; provide exception reports and recommended actions.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Procurement to develop and maintain procurement tracking lists for long-lead equipment.
- Support the portfolio schedule to have a forecast look-ahead of at least 3 years, issued quarterly.
- Provide project timelines, stages, and status overviews to Project Managers.
- Facilitate and coordinate cross-functional planning and reviews of project schedules prior to gates and baselining.
- Contribute to RFP processes, including Scope of Work (SOW) development and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
- Perform quality assurance on project schedules and reports, coordinating with Study & Project Managers to rectify risks and non-conformances before gates and baselining.
- Identify, establish, and monitor interdependencies and synergies between projects to support portfolio execution planning.
- Develop schedule layouts and reporting structures to meet the needs of KSPC stakeholders and supervisors.
YOUR PROFILE
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering Technologist with 3-5 years of experience in a heavy industrial process setting.
- Strong experience with scheduling platforms Primavera P6 and Excel.
- Exceptional organizational skills for detailed data management, crucial for decision-making affecting maintenance and operations.
- Over 3 years of project management experience on large multi-year projects and small maintenance projects.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and refining best-practice programs and policies.
- Proven ability to foster productive stakeholder relationships.
- Aptitude for facilitating knowledge sharing across teams and departments.
- Understanding of project business objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering value.
- Systems-level thinking capability.
- Experience leading organizational change management initiatives.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and business intelligence tools and methodologies.
- Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
