Job description

We are looking to add to anotherLogistics Planning Coordinator (LPC)to join our growing Bulk Business Unit team in Saskatoon.

Reporting to the Manager, Supervisor Bulk West Operations, theLogistics Planning Coordinator(LPC) role is responsible for planning, dispatching, and coordinating the assigned Bulk fleet, working with customers & coordinating the fleet of drivers & trailing equipment based on the commodity to be hauled.The LPC acts as both the customer liaison and the fleet planner, and builds the daily & weekly plans, accordingly, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.Daily and ongoing communication and coaching of the assigned fleet of drivers & owner/operators is a key responsibility in effectively executing Bulk logistics to achieve customer expectations and maximize asset utilization. A full description of this position will be discussed with qualified candidates at an interview.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the office.

This role requires an individual keenly interested in a transportation career with the following:

  • Transportation knowledge and experience in planning, dispatch and/or customer service, with the ability to plan and adjust plan based on a variety of variables
  • Strong customer service skills, to identify customer needs & availability of fleet equipment
  • Strong people skills working with fleet of drivers and collaborating with team members
  • Knowledge of logistics software or systems, with experience in, or an ability to learn, the Truck Mate (TMW) system.
  • Proficient use of MS Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in handling volume of work, changing demands and various source of information
  • Ability to problem solve and negotiate to achieve consensus
  • Strong attention to details to ensure system information is accurate & clearly communicated with Bulk Dispatcher
  • Available to attend to after hours and weekend support on a rotation basis.
  • Due to our location, the successful candidate will need to have reliable transportation to attend work each day.
