Job summary

BrightPath Kids in British Columbia is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant for full-time, on-site work. You will support teachers and families in caring for children ages 3-5, implementing our curriculum, and contributing to a safe, engaging learning environment.

Salary is $20.50–$24.00 per hour with no evenings or weekends; benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, sick time, holidays and paid personal days.

Qualifications

• First Aid and infant CPR are current.
• Immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath's curriculum to support children's development.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
• Assess children's abilities, interests, and needs; discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Collaborate with coworkers, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Assist with maintaining classroom materials and organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children ages 3-5 years old in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath's curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Educator Certificate
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
