Job summary

BrightPath Kids in British Columbia is seeking a casual Early Childhood Educator/Assistant to support teachers and families, providing a warm, home-away-from-home setting for children in our care.

Applicants should have an Early Childhood Assistant Certification, meet provincial childcare requirements, and hold current First Aid/CPR, immunization and health clearance. Prior program planning experience is valued, with a no-evenings-or-weekends schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have Early Childhood Assistant Certification.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local requirements.
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist ECEs and ITs with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain an environment that protects children's well-being.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Build collaborative relationships with coworkers, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.
• Help keep classroom materials clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an CasualEarly Childhood Educator/Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting ECE’s and IT’s with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
