Qualifications

  • 2+ years of multi-provincial payroll processing experience required.
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors is essential.

Day in the Life:

  • Ensure compliance with Federal & Provincial Payroll legislation and company policies
  • Responsible for the Payroll Matrix and Union Wage Schedule for both Canada & US
  • Work with Applications Team and the HR Team to ensure alignment with union contracts
  • Assist in Union Remittance, contract review and payroll programming requirements
  • Responsible for Government related remittance
  • Assist in the issuing of T4’s/RL1s/W2s and all related Year End Reporting
  • Research, resolve and provide guidance to the payroll teams with regards to employee inquiries regarding current and prior year, quarter and year-end tax statement discrepancies
  • Performing audits/validations prior to running payrolls
  • Act as a backup for Payroll Processing Leaders (Canada & US)
  • Act as a backup for Workflow Request Queue in SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, deductions, allowances etc. as required
  • Run payroll departmental reports as required
  • Monitor and address employee inquiries from the Payroll Support Helpdesk
  • Liaison with branches on payroll and union related items
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

What We Are Seeking:

  • Minimum 2 years multi-provincial (including Quebec) payroll processing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of SAP Success Factors experience
  • Union Contract experience
  • Spectrum experience an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel/Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail a must
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CPA Certification an asset
  • Bilingual in French and English
