(NASDAQ: BKNG), is an industry leader with a unique insight into the world of hospitality. We champion restaurants, bars, wineries, and other venues around the world, helping them attract guests, manage capacity, improve operations and maximize revenue.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global network that includes OpenTable and KAYAK's portfolio of travel brands including Swoodoo, checkfelix, momondo, Cheapflights, Mundi and HotelsCombined.

Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture. You’ll work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, and get the benefits, flexibility, and support you need to succeed.

About this role:

KAYAK | OpenTable is seeking a proactive Senior Payroll Specialist to join us in the Finance Team, based in Norwalk. We are a group of highly motivated, professional individuals who love all things numbers, controls and compliance. We have a hard-working culture, but we also know how to have fun.

The ideal candidate is always curious, embraces change and thrives in an ambiguous rapid-growth environment. You are detailed, highly organized with plenty of hands-on payroll management and processing experience. You have an eagerness to improve processes and execute, and excel both working independently and collaborating with colleagues.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of EMEA and NORAM payrolls through the use of Cloudpay (in-house) and/or management of payroll service providers.
  • Ensure employees receive accurate remuneration by the agreed pay dates.
  • Ensure full compliance with all payroll related matters and reporting requirements (e.g. payroll taxes, social security, fringe benefits, stock-based compensation, global mobility, annual filings); collaborating with HR, Accounting, Finance Operations, Tax and Legal to address the full picture.
  • Investigate and solve payroll related queries and issues (vendor, compliance, reporting/accounting etc.)
  • Act as the in-house payroll subject matter expert, in respect of the work performed by external service provider.
  • Work together with HR Operations to ensure that payroll data integrations run smoothly, reporting issues and suggesting enhancements and solutions.
  • Support on projects and process improvements as well as during payroll audits.
  • Manage the payroll service provider relationships.

Please apply if:

  • Professional payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) and/or professional accounting qualification.
  • Significant proven experience either in professional practice or in-house roles; with the proven ability to process payroll accurately and timely, and meet compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical payroll processing skills and a broad understanding of payroll compliance, international payroll processing experience is a must.
  • Demonstrable interest and knowledge of payroll and related HR/Accounting systems; Cloudpay, Netsuite and WorkDay is preferred.
  • Proven process improvement experience, ideally involving system changes.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end payroll process; including systems, data flow, key stakeholders, filing requirements and accounting implications.
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with and manage payroll service vendors.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate confidently and professionally at all levels within the organization.
  • Solution focused and hands-on with the ability to prioritize and deliver multiple tasks in order to meet conflicting timelines.
  • Strives for excellent business support and embraces change with an open and honest approach to communication.
  • Preferred payroll experience with any of the following countries: United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Ireland, Switzerland, or Lithuania.

Benefits:

  • Work from (almost) anywhere; wherever you do your best work
  • Focus on mental health and well-being
  • Company paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth
  • Company paid subscription to HeadSpace
  • Company-wide weeks off each year - the whole team fully recharges (and returns without a pile-up of work!)
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Generous paid vacation + time off for your birthday
  • Paid volunteer time
  • Health, dental & vision plans
  • 401k with company match
  • Focus on your career growth
  • Enriched learning and development opportunities
  • Leadership development
  • Access to thousands of on-demand e-learnings

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this U.S. located role is $85,000 - $105,000 annually.
