Job summary

A leading support organization in Toronto is seeking a Behaviour Support Associate to promote individual well-being by implementing behavioral support plans. You will work closely with a team of professionals and engage in developing life skills programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Qualifications

  • Successful completion of internal training including Safe Management Group (SMG).
  • Driver's license is an asset.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in the area of Social Services. Preference is given to graduates of a Behavioural Science Technology degree or diploma program.
  • At least one year of experience using Applied Behavior Analysis to support individuals with complex needs in a residential environment.
  • Successful completion of internal legislated and mandated training is required, including Safe Management Group (SMG).
  • Driver's license is an asset.
Job Summary

Supporting individuals in all aspects of daily living while working as part of an inter-professional team, including an ABA lead and a Behavioral Services Consultant, to directly implement all aspects of the behavioural intervention/support plan. A strong emphasis is placed on building capacity to function in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Under the general supervision of a program supervisor, develop written programs that aid in the acquisition of life skills in collaboration with the ABA lead.
  • Identify program needs of individuals supported, participate in the development and implementation of life plans, and assist in monitoring achievement of personal outcomes.
  • Provide case management to individuals on caseload, provide appropriate personal and physical care, including medication administration, crisis response, advocating on behalf of individuals supported, and liaising with family, medical and other professionals and service providers to address needs.
  • Provide emotional support to individuals supported on a one-on-one or group basis and refer to professionals when necessary.
  • Maintain documentation (including behavioural data and skill acquisition data), monitor finances, and ensure an appropriate standard of living.
  • Provide direction to part-time staff as required.
  • Provide feedback to ABA lead regarding specific areas of program implementation.
