As a Budtender at True North Cannabis, you'll be at the heart of the action, guiding guests—whether they're newcomers or experienced consumers—through their cannabis journey. You’ll stay up to date with industry trends and legal requirements while ensuring each guest has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the True North Cannabis Co. brand with pride and professionalism.
  • Greet, and assist customers, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Educate customers on cannabis products, helping them choose what’s best for their needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Management and sales teams to reach goals and maximize store sales.
  • Sell like a pro—meet targets and make customers feel great about their choices!
  • Handle feedback, Compliments, and concerns with professionalism and courtesy, turning challenges into opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate the sale of regulated cannabis products by engaging with customers about products, accessories, and everything cannabis!
  • Stay excited about the industry and bring creative energy to the store. Curate experiences that go above and beyond expectations for each guest.
  • Follow all legislative requirements, ensuring that we stay compliant with federal, provincial, and municipal laws at all times.
  • Check IDs and handle reception duties as needed—keeping things efficient while ensuring compliance.
  • Help organize and categorize products and accessories, keeping the store looking sharp and well-stocked.
  • Be a POS pro! Utilize systems like Cova, Merrco, and Dutchie to process sales efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures to keep transactions smooth and secure.
  • Keep the store clean and tidy—from shelves to the sales floor, a neat space makes everyone feel more comfortable.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business results, whether it's through creative ideas or contributing to team goals.
  • Stay open to feedback, coaching, and personal growth. We’re all about continuous improvement!
What you bring to the table:
  • A passion for cannabis and a genuine desire to help people discover and enjoy it.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
  • Strong communication skills—you can explain things clearly, whether it's about a product or a new process.
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-oriented spirit, because we rise together!
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, between 8:00am to 11:30pm.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and processing transactions.
  • A valid Cannabis Certification— CannSell or Cannabis Retail Certification Program.
  • A clean criminal background check (transparency is key).
  • A personal connection to the community? Even better!
Not a Must, But Definitely a Plus:
  • A solid knowledge of cannabis products and accessories—if you’re already a cannabis enthusiast, even better!
  • First Aid Certification—because being prepared is always a good idea!
  • Previous experience in sales or retail—if you’ve got it, we’re all ears!
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing, reaching, and occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs).
  • Able to work shifts lasting between 8-12 hours on tiled surfaces.
  • Must Be able to work alone or as part of a team for whole or part of a shift.

Competitive hourly wage ($17.70 - $18.50 per hour).

Our operating hours are 7 days a week and may range from 8am to 11:30pm

Part-time hours range : 00- 30 hours per week

Full- time hours range : 30 – 44 hours per week
