Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is advertising a Part Time Dietary Aide position at Dover Cliffs LTC in Port Dover, ON. The role involves supporting meal setup, preparation, serving and cleaning as part of daily kitchen operations.

The position reports to the Food Service Manager and requires a college-level Food Service Worker program and a current Safe Food Handling Certificate, with strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure safe, quality resident meals.

Qualifications

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting Ontario LTC Homes Act requirements.
• Current Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling.
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation.
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols.
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders.
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room.

Reports to: Food Service Manager

The Dietary Aide provides support to the setup, preparation, serving and cleaning associated with all meal services in the Home.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements Include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes’ Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Policy
