Job description

The Corporate Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the relationship and performance for selected major accounts at Teknion. The Corporate Account Manager is accountable for strategic positioning and sales of Teknion’s products and services by working with all levels within the client organization from Project Management to C-Suite, related influencers and third-party service providers, with the goal to increase account penetration. Maintaining exemplary, measured, service relationships at all levels is achieved by working closely with Teknion internal resources including International and US contacts, and with Teknion’s Dealer network across Canada. Strong industry knowledge of workplace trends and current issues is needed to develop the strategy for application of Teknion’s products, services and resources to maximize sales opportunities, and deepen client relationships. Acting as a senior ambassador to the Teknion brand and values, representing and articulating our corporate priorities and values, while aligning them with those of our major customers.

What are the primary responsibilities for this role?
  • Developing and maintaining relationships at all levels of a client organization becoming their primary trusted resource at Teknion. Applying creativity and innovative thinking to further embed the Teknion/client relationship through value added strategies and actions.
  • Selling Teknion’s products and services to existing major customers by interacting and building business relationships with key existing customers to introduce new products and services as they are developed and launched.
  • Strategically lead the response to all competitive requests (RFP, RFI, RFQ, etc.) that may require pricing & presentations.
  • Being knowledgeable of all contractual customer commitments and the overall execution of those commitments.
  • Acting as the senior account escalation point to be accountable for follow-up with internal Teknion functions.
  • Maintaining Teknion client product standards and working with the internal team to manage changes, and ensure these changes are communicated to the dealer network.
  • Creating and presenting a quarterly executive summary to key stakeholders within your accounts focussing on efforts to add value and strengthen our relationship.
  • Developing sales strategies to capture and maintain prime accounts while utilizing strategic selling techniques such as Miller Heiman blue sheeting, multi-level relationship building, and product presentations to strategically close sales.
  • Ensuring that the selling and product installation process is consistent with the needs of the clients, and that all orders are processed on time and according to specifications. To achieve this, the Corporate Accounts Manager is responsible for working with the Account Managers, Dealer PM’s, consultants such as Project Management firms and Architectural and Design firms, to ensure Dealers/Customers are informed of order progress, as well as ensure that all project activities are effectively co‑ordinated between the Dealer/Customer and the Dealer Project Manager.
  • Working with existing and potential customers on modifications to Teknion’s products to meet tailored customer requirements (special orders/custom requirements).
  • Working with the Account Managers and dealers to manage third party products for major customers.
  • Educating existing customers of Teknion’s products through Lunch and Learns, Video introductions, Brochures, etc. Introduce all new products either at showroom presentations or at customers’ facility.
  • Ensuring customers are kept current on new products and changes to existing product lines by introducing and informing customers of new product launches, product finishes, plan ideas, and product changes in a timely manner.
  • Organizing and resourcing educational events related to topical industry issues and specialized topics. Engaging Teknion subject matter experts and affiliated industry experts to participate and support events and educational sessions.
  • Assist in organization and participation in client-focused entertainment and educational events.
  • Maintaining and generating accurate reports within Salesforce to ensure effective measurement of sales results, as well as ensuring accurate client information is maintained in the sales database.
  • Continuously developing and maintaining knowledge of furniture, the Contract Interiors Industry, Corporate Real Estate and workplace trends through internal and external learning initiatives.
  • Participation in Corporate Account Team activities and meetings, and participation in the development of client specific value‑add programs and initiatives to provide a competitive advantage to leverage additional furniture sales.
  • Leverage current technology tools like AI (Gemini), CET, Salesforce, and social media, to support strategy and efficiency in order to remain at the forefront of our industry.
  • Occasional travel within Canada and periodically internationally for client requirements.
What education & experience will help you thrive in this role?
  • Post secondary education with a degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven track record in B2B or major account sales, typically gained through 7 or more years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of sales process and strategic selling techniques

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and AI tools (like Gemini) to support project goals.
