Job summary

Teknion-Ltd is seeking a design professional to generate and refine concepts for furniture and architectural products. You will work with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturing feasibility and manage multiple projects from concept to launch, delivering visuals, renders, and mockups.

The role emphasizes leading milestone presentations, communicating with stakeholders, and applying 3D CAD and rendering tools to capture best-in-class design processes. A strong portfolio is required.

Job description

• Generating creative design concepts according to the project objectives
• Refining the concepts based on the requirements, limitations, and possibilities in the areas form, function, specifying, manufacturing, installation, practicality, etc.
• Work alongside cross-disciplinary teams such as Design Engineering to make sure the technical aspects are all considered in the design process.
• Creating all projects milestone presentations according to the department and corporate quality level, and to present the content to the internal and external stakeholders as needed.
• Generating visual assets to communicate throughout the development process.
• Leading creation process of all launch assets (renders, animations, etc.) as per project objectives.
• Using every available tools (3D CAD modeling & rendering, mockup & prototype making, 3D printing, etc.) to ensure having all aspects of design process captured to have a "good design" for launch.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

• Expert user of SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft/Google office applications.
• Full understanding of manufacturing processes for different materials
• Hands-on experience of working on physical products development.
• Technical design background is a huge asset.
• Furniture and/or architectural products design and development background is an asset.
• Healthcare design & development is an asset.
• Good Project management skills and time management skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously without compromising the quality or missing deadlines.
• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail
• Proactive learner with a strong desire for continuous personal and professional growth.
• Strong interpersonal skills paired with a positive attitude.

The expected base salary range for this position will be start at $74,410.00. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
