About the job Controller (Bilingual, Contract, Montreal)
Our client located in Contrecoeur, Quebec is looking for a Controller. This is a hybrid, full time, contract role. CPA is mandatory. Bilingual is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Under the responsibility of the Director of Industrial Control, the Industrial Controller will be responsible for: Conducting a detailed cost analysis, tracking performance, and planning a weekly meeting with plant managers to share analyses and recommendations related to the budget, highlighting variances, and proposing solutions to address them.
- Closing the period ensuring that accounting standards and dealing with tight deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with the management team, preparing monthly presentations to understand and explain plant performances and be able to assess risks and opportunities.
- Collaborating with directors to establish annual budgets and monthly forecasts that contribute to achieving the organization’s objectives.
- Overseeing physical inventory counts and ensuring the accuracy of inventory quantities and values as well as compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitoring and valuing continuous improvement projects and ensuring their proper accounting in the system.
- Participating in various profitability analyses at the request of plant managers and the Director of Industrial Control.
- Responding to requests from internal and external auditors.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in administration, commerce, or management accounting.
- Have a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong technical accounting skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel spreadsheet.
- Have a strong openness to new technologies.
- Knowledge of management software is an asset; familiarity with SAP software is a plus.
- Ability to plan and anticipate tasks and responsibilities to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple files at once and have a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrate communication skills, great adaptability, and a strong team spirit.
- Be able to travel to work in the plant and demonstrate autonomy.
- Prioritize health and safety on a daily basis: you are an advocate for good health, safety, and environmental practices at work.
- Have a good command of both French and English.
