Position Information
Location: New Westminster/Coquitlam Campus
Salary Range: Hourly: $52.41-$114.65/hour; Per Three Credit Course: $7,947; Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy within the Faculty of Science and Technology at Douglas College offers a range of college physics courses. We invite applications for contract instructors beginning in the Summer 2026 semester. For the Summer 2026 semester, we require an instructor for Introductory General Physics I (PHYS 1107). Ability to teach other 1st year preparatory and university transfer physics and astronomy courses will be an asset and may be required in future semesters.

You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner‑centered instruction.
Applicants will be considered based on their experience in the available subject areas and post‑secondary qualifications.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking contract instructors to start in the Summer 2026 semester at the New Westminster and/or Coquitlam Campuses. For the Summer 2026 semester, we are seeking an instructor for Introductory General Physics I (PHYS 1107) with classes on Wednesdays and Fridays. Teaching schedule will vary for available courses in future semesters.
Workload is assigned each year based on available sections, instructor availability and expertise of contract instructors.
