What you''ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Technology Operations (TO) team. As a Consultant, Project Finance you will be responsible for providing reporting and business analytics to support the immediate team and Senior Management. This includes completing financial analysis and forecasting for TO-managed project budgets, creating and delivering regular and ad hoc reports, completing analysis to support key strategic decisions and initiatives for TO, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives (i.e. automating and standardizing reporting and processes). You can effectively perform all work activities remotely, and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis.

How you''ll succeed
  • Understanding and documenting requirements: Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to understand requirements and facilitate discussions to ensure you meet project needs.
  • Financial Management: Effectively forecast, analyze, and provide updates to our stakeholders on project spend (including vendor-related costs).
  • Reporting: Provide reporting regularly on financials for programs and/or projects tailored to the respective audience. Use sound judgement to provide insights to support decision making.
  • Procurement: Work with internal business partners and external suppliers to ensure appropriate procurement of technology goods and services. Validate requests to ensure accuracy and completeness, performing follow-ups with requestors & suppliers as required. Adhere to CIBC guidelines and follow team processes to ensure orders are completed.
  • Leading and mentoring: Support end-to-end project implementation as a finance subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
Who you are
  • You have strong business acumen: including 3 to 5 years of working experience in Finance & Accounting and/or Project Management, along with additional experience in Reporting & Analytics is preferred.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
