Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort Company in Ontario is seeking a Porter Team Lead to manage event space setup and teardown, drive guest service standards, and coordinate logistics for conferences and banquets. You will lead a busy team, collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping, and ensure spaces meet guest expectations.

You will supervise inventory, create bar requisitions from BEOs, and work with sales to plan layouts and guest flow.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work all shifts including weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead the Porter team to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Coach the Porter team on daily duties and standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping for conference spaces.
• Oversee set-up and tear-down of meeting rooms and inventory.
• Create bar requisitions from BEO and support beverage control.
• Plan event diagrams, layouts and guest flow with sales/service teams.
• Manage inventory of chairs, tables, linens, staging and guest supplies.
• Assist with Porter scheduling to meet business needs.
• Support other F&B operations during peak times.
• Ensure daily processes align with the Strategic Plan and budgets.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The purpose of this role is to lead the Porter team in delivering exceptional guest service by managing event space set-up and tear-down, maintaining standards, coordinating logistics, and supporting seamless conference and banquet operations.

• Manage guest relationships by setting clear service expectations, actively soliciting feedback, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead and coach the Porter team in daily responsibilities, holding each team member accountable to service standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure conference spaces are in proper working condition and meet guest standards.
• Supervise and assist with the set-up and tear-down of meeting rooms, stock linen, and oversee inventory management.
• Create bar requisitions from Banquet Event Order (BEO) information, ensuring requisitions are accurately filled and delivered to banquet bars.
• Support beverage control by conducting periodic audits and supervising transfer processes.
• Partner with sales and service teams to organize event diagrams, layouts, and guest flow to deliver seamless events.
• Manage inventory of room elements, including chairs, tables, linens, staging, and other guest supplies.
• Collaborate with Banquet leadership on Porter team scheduling to align with operational needs.
• Based on business volumes, may be required to work in other F&B operations for extended periods of time
• Ensures tactical processes and standards are followed to support the achievement of the Strategic Plan.
• Ensures that daily expenses and labour schedules meet daily budget allocations.
