Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meets vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meets standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meets standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of simple treatments and bedside care to residents.
• Understanding sanitation and cleaning appropriate for geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor care to ensure it aligns with the care plan.
• Document information pertaining to resident care.
• Attend in-service education, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assist in onboarding new staff.
• Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
