AgeCare seeks a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) in Medicine Hat to join our care team, supporting residents with daily living activities under the supervision of a Staff Nurse. You will deliver safe, respectful personal care and assist with therapies and mobility.

Ideal candidates have a PCA certificate, Alberta CLHA registration, fluent English, and at least one year of continuing care experience. Post-secondary education is an asset; strong communication and compassion are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or a related environment is preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate course or equivalent.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsabilités

• Bath, shower, and wash residents following care plans and temperature controls.
• Assist with resident transfers using appropriate lifts and PPE.
• Feed and assist with meals according to care plans.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and travel around the facility.
• Support dining room transitions and use of assistive devices as needed.
• Escort residents to beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation activities.
• Accompany residents to social and therapy functions within the facility.
