Job summary

Home Care Assistance is hiring PSWs to provide compassionate in-home care in the Wasaga Beach area. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, overnights, and every other weekend, with potential live-in opportunities in the future.

The successful candidate will have a PSW certification, a valid First Aid/CPR certificate, a clean vulnerability check, and a reliable vehicle. Competitive pay and benefits are offered after meeting hours requirements.

Qualifications

• DSW/PSW/SSW certification is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• Drivers License and own insured vehicle is mandatory.
• Satisfactory professional references.
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living in residences or facilities.
• Experience with working Palliative Care.
• Maintaining open communication with client and family.
• Monitoring care plan and documenting changes.
• Responding to all emergency situations.
• All other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding etc.) in personal residences or facilities
• Experience with working Palliative Care
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned
