Job summary

Home Care Assistance is seeking a PSW to support clients in the Wasaga Beach area with daily living activities and compassionate care. Shifts include mornings, evenings, overnights, and occasional weekends, with a possible live-in opportunity in the future.

Qualifications include DSW/PSW/SSW certification, First Aid/CPR, and a valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months. A driver’s license and personal vehicle are mandatory.

• Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed within 6 months.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living in residences or facilities.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal prep and feeding.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual support.
• Maintain open communication with client and family and document changes.
• Respond to emergencies and follow care plans.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding etc.) in personal residences or facilities
• Experience with working Palliative Care
• Drivers license and reliable carare mandatory for this position.
• Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• DSW/PSW/SSW certification is required
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Drivers License and own insured vehicle is mandatory
• Satisfactory professional references
• Ability toaccurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
