Job summary

Home Care Assistance seeks a PSW for a community client in the Washago area to provide care on a part-time, weekend basis. The role runs 8 am–4 pm every other weekend and Tuesdays every other week, with a focus on personal care and client well-being.

Drivers license and own insured vehicle are mandatory, along with PSW certification and First Aid/CPR. The company offers competitive pay and benefits after 30+ hours per week, plus flexible hours and a minimum 4-hour shift.

Qualifications

• PSW certification is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle mandatory.
• Satisfactory professional references.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to anticipate problems and exercise good judgment with confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support.
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention.
• Maintain open communication with client and family.
• Monitor care plan and document changes.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• All other duties, as assigned.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behaviorsupport and crisis intervention
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification is required
