Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a compassionate Home Support Attendant to provide in-home care under a pre-established plan. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, and personal care, promoting independence in the community.

Qualifications include BC Care Aide Registry registration, a recognized Home Support Attendant/Resident Care Aide program, and a valid BC driver’s license. Evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Home Support Attendant/ Resident Care Aid Program.
• Registration with the BC Care Aide Registry.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
• Certificates in CPR, First Aid and Food Safe.
• Use of personal vehicle.
• Or equivalent combination of current education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide home support services to clients according to a pre-established care plan.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, meal planning and preparation).
• Promote maximum independence and well-being for individuals and families in the community.
• Perform delegated tasks after completing delegation training.

Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position provides home support services to clients in accordance with a pre-established care plan. Assists with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, planning and preparing meals while promoting maximum independence. Performs delegated tasks for which delegation of tasks training has been completed. A key component of this job is to ensure the well-being of individuals and families and to promote independent living while in the community.

Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry

Shift Rotation/Hours of work

Evenings, 15:00 to 23:00 (rotating)
