Job summary

Northern Health in British Columbia is seeking an experienced Registered Care Aide to support LPN supervision and provide activities of daily living for clients in a long-term care setting.

The role requires a LT Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) and at least one year in elder care; a BC Class 4 license is required. Work hours are Mon/Wed/Fri days, 08:30–15:00, on-site at Houston Health Centre.

Qualifications

• Long Term Care Aide certificate or a combination of training and experience augmented by sound knowledge of the problems faced with dealing with the elderly and people who periodically suffer physical problems, and psychological or emotional disturbances, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• One year experience in a health care facility/agency related to care for the elderly.
• Valid BC Class 4 Driver's License.

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Registered Care Aide to join Northern Health.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position assists the LPN Supervisor in providing a balanced program of purposeful services and activities to meet client's activation, life skills, recreational and social needs and to assist with activities of daily living as required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Mon/Wed/Fri, Days - 08:30 to 15:00

Qualfications
