Job summary

Northern Health seeks a Registered Care Aide to provide home support in the Prince George area under the supervision of the Manager or designate. You will assist clients with daily living activities, plan meals, and promote independence according to care plans.

Evening shift rotation from Friday to Monday, 17:00 to 22:00, with responsibilities spanning community-based care and collaboration with care teams. BCH registry and driver requirements apply.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Home Support Attendant/Resident Care Aid Program.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aid & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers' License.
  • Certificates in CPR, First Aid and Food Safe.
  • Use of personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, oral hygiene).
  • Plan and prepare meals, promoting independence.
  • Perform delegated tasks per training and care plan.
  • Support well-being and independent living in the community.

Job description

Position Summary

Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Follow the path to an exciting career as a Registered Care Aide at Highland Health & Family Development Centre.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position provides home support services to clients in accordance with a pre-established care plan. Assists with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, planning and preparing meals while promoting maximum independence. Performs delegated tasks for which delegation of tasks training has been completed. A key component of this job is to ensure the well-being of individuals and families and to promote independent living while in the community.

Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry
Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Evenings, Friday to Monday, 17:00 to 22:00

Qualfications

  • Registration with the BC Care Aid & Community Health Worker Registry.
