You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator (Building Group) will:
  • Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment/treatment and accident/injury reports
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
  • Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals
  • Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals
  • Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
  • Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics
  • Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
Is this the right role for you?
  • You have a minimum of 2 years' of safety experience on Institutional, Commercial and Residential Construction Projects
  • You hold at minimum a valid OFA L3 certificate (or able to obtain an OFA L3)
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset
  • Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset
  • You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
  • Bi lingual (French and English) is required
  • CNESST Certified is required
