Salary Range: $49.02 - $57.68 /hour

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides services to both LHSC and SJHC. This position is an SJHC position, and the successful candidate will become a SJHC employee.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as the liaison between the hospital's clinical areas and the Clinical Informatics / Information Technology Services department. This includes participating and supporting the determination of the needs and requirements for clinical applications in acute and ambulatory healthcare settings. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will support and participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of automated clinical systems. This individual will work with staff and physicians to optimize adoption and standardization of clinical systems through education and training, workflow/process analysis, quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with organizational goals.

Essential Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and how it can be applied in a clinical environment
  • Experience with established business application systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to strong customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to research and assimilate a large quantity of diverse information
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite and email systems
  • Experience or training using clinical documentation systems
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively problem solve
  • Min 3-5 years direct clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Master's Degree in Clinical/Health Informatics preferred
  • Current registration with applicable professional college preferred
  • Experience with project leadership in a health care environment
  • Min 3-5 years' experience with large scale IT implementation

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
