Job summary

LASIK MD in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Clinical Assistant for a temporary 17-month contract. The role is part-time (~24 hours/week) with a busy ophthalmology clinic team and in-house training.

You will support pre- and post-operative care, maintain charts, handle scheduling, and contribute to patient safety within a dynamic, service-focused environment. You will work with Ophthalmology experts and gain exposure to a Best Managed Companies team, while enjoying a structured schedule Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365; knowledge of EMR systems is an asset.
• Interest in the medical field and delivering excellent customer service.
• Able to connect with others and build trust quickly.
• Experience in the health care field is an asset (medical assistant, optometry assistant, etc.).
• Looking for a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong teamwork and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Assist during pre-op exams and fill patient charts accurately.
• Answer patients' questions and ensure the best service.
• Work closely with Optometrists.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative tests for patients.
• Update the appointment system after every consultation.
• Schedule and confirm post-operative appointments by telephone.
• Support Risk Management by reporting patient safety concerns to clinic management.

Your tasks at a glance

• You assist during the pre-op exams and fill the patient's charts accurately.

• Your experience in the health care field is considered an asset (ex: medical assistant, physiotherapy assistant, optometry assistant, orderly, dental assistant, pharmacy lab technician, sterilization assistant, animal health technician assistant, veterinary assistant, etc.).
• You are looking for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where your ability to work in a team and excel at multi-tasking will be an asset.
• Schedule: You have flexibility to work between Monday and Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with rotational Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, for a total of approx. 24 hours p/week (3-4 days a week).
