Job Title: Civil Project Engineer II
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Engineer II is responsible for supporting engineering design reviews and driving project execution within defined budgetary and scheduling constraints. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining data integrity, and addressing operational challenges through technical analysis. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to support project objectives, often under direct supervision. This position also acts as a backup to the Project Manager when necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the preparation of Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents, evaluate bids, and assist with contractor selection processes.
- Identify and procure long lead-time equipment and maintain coordination with engineering teams through to contractor assignment.
- Oversee the preparation and coordination of key project deliverables required at critical project decision gates.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of cross-functional interaction plans.
- Manage the resolution of project-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and support change management activities, including evaluation and endorsement of change authorizations.
- Ensure the timely and successful execution of assigned project scope in alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to confirm that designs and construction activities meet established standards and specifications.
- Act as the primary liaison between the internal project team and external contractors.
- Guide the project team through various project phases, ensuring seamless handovers and transitions.
- Lead efforts in applying project management methodologies and systems to ensure successful project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Field experience is essential.
- EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) experience.
- Experience with slurry wall/cut-off wall projects.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, project management, or project controls, preferably with cross-functional involvement.
- Proven expertise in multiple technical disciplines with strong practical and theoretical knowledge of engineering and construction practices.
- Familiarity with industry design standards, specifications, and workflow processes.
- Demonstrated leadership with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard project management tools.
