Position Overview

Parkland County seeks a permanent, full-time Project Engineer II in the Engineering Services department. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Construction, the role involves project management and coordination of capital and special projects related to water and wastewater utilities, stormwater, and transportation. Responsibilities include technical research, report production, design support, project administration, contract management, and asset management. The role also involves maintaining the county's asset inventory, requiring strong project management, organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environment, Water Resources, or related field; formal training in Project or Construction Management is an asset.
  • Eligibility for P.Eng. registration with APEGA; candidates with C.E.T or working towards P.Eng. will be considered at a developmental level.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in project management of infrastructure, including design drafting.
  • Knowledge of municipal transit operations and asset management is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Practical knowledge of utility installation, relocation, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with databases and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary ranges from $99,500 to $107,600, based on education and experience, with a possible lower range for developmental candidates. Benefits include health and dental coverage, Employee Assistance Program, paid sick leave, three weeks of vacation plus your birthday off, flexible work arrangements, and personal days.
