Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Chief Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of innovative wealth management solutions. You will mobilize experts, drive architectural governance, and oversee end-to-end delivery from development to production, ensuring high-quality technology solutions and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a Solutions Architect within the financial services industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with systems integration technologies, including APIs, microservices, ESBs, Kafka, and similar technologies.
• Experience with Java, Kafka, and Kubernetes is considered an asset.
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Sybase, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of security concepts and standards, including SAML, OAuth, and OpenID.
• Experience with AWS cloud solutions (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification is an asset).

• Mobilize various subject matter experts to design solutions that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements while aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives.
• Demonstrate authentic leadership and a servant leadership mindset.
• Participate in peer reviews and support fellow architects when they require assistance.
• Simplify and promote the architecture governance process among project teams.
• Contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of the solution architecture practice.
• Evaluate implementation and maintenance costs of proposed solutions.
• Stay informed of technological trends and understand their impact on business processes and applications, communicating these impacts effectively to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of planning exercises (SAFe PI Planning).
• Ensure the successful delivery of activities under your responsibility, from development through production deployment, while maintaining high-quality technology solutions.

You are part of a team of 20 colleagues in the wealth Management sector and report to a Senior Manager.
