Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Generative AI Solutions Architect for the Commercial and 1859 Technology and Innovation team in Montreal. You will design and evolve AI‑driven solutions, integrating data, APIs, and cloud components to deliver secure, scalable architectures across business contexts.

The role requires hands on experience with generative AI, LLMs, and cloud platforms, with a focus on governance, FinOps, and end‑to‑end delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with several years of solution architecture experience.
• Hands‑on experience delivering projects involving generative AI or AI solutions.
• Strong cloud understanding, ideally AWS and Salesforce, for generative AI.
• Experience designing data, APIs, microservices, and governance.
• Knowledge of modern software practices, CI/CD, and security.
• Banking industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define AI‑integrated solutions for business contexts.
• Guide teams on adopting LLM services, tools, and AI frameworks.
• Design modular, secure, scalable architectures with AI models and cloud components.
• Ensure solution quality and compliance with dev, data, infra, and security teams.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end solutions including data pipelines, MLOps, and integrations.
• Diagnose complex challenges to ensure robustness and security of AI deployments.

A career as a Generative AI Solutions Architect within the Commercial and 1859 Technology and Innovation team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in the design and evolution of solutions enhanced by generative artificial intelligence. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact on our organization by leveraging your expertise in architecture, data, and emerging AI technologies.

Your Role

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define solutions that integrate generative AI into a variety of business contexts.
• Influence technology directions and guide teams in adopting services, tools, and frameworks related to large language models (LLMs) and AI-powered solutions.
• Design modular, secure, and scalable architectures that incorporate generative AI models and cloud-based components.
• Ensure solution consistency, quality, and compliance by working closely with development, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.
• Contribute to the implementation of end-to-end solutions, including data pipelines, MLOps, system integrations, and monitoring/FinOps mechanisms.
• Diagnose complex challenges and recommend approaches that ensure the robustness, performance, and security of deployed AI solutions.

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with several years of relevant experience in solution architecture within complex environments.
• Hands‑on experience delivering projects involving generative AI, advanced language models, or emerging AI solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture concepts, ideally within AWS and Salesforce ecosystems, including services applicable to generative AI.
• Experience designing solutions that integrate data, APIs, microservices, and technology governance mechanisms.
• Knowledge of modern software development practices, CI/CD, application security, and continuous integration.
• Experience or knowledge of the banking industry is considered a strong asset.

Languages: Reason to require this language: you will need to discuss frequently with our service providers or partners who speak a language other than French.
