Cobalt Construction is seeking a reliable Camp Cook to join our remote camp operations in Yukon on a rotation-based schedule. You will prepare nutritious, home-style meals, maintain a clean kitchen, and ensure food safety standards are met.

You’ll live onsite during scheduled work shifts in a remote camp environment. The role requires experience cooking for a crew, Food Safe certification, and the ability to manage time and inventory in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Food Safe certification is required.
  • Experience as a camp cook is preferred.
  • Ability to live on-site in a remote camp.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced meals for crews on site.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, dining area, and storage.
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies when required.
  • Track and manage food inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards.
  • Bake fresh goods, snacks, and desserts as needed.
  • Participate in camp duties such as dishwashing and cleaning.
  • Daily camp cleaning including washrooms and weekly sheet changes.

We’re hiring a reliable and experienced Camp Cook to join our remote camp operations on a rotation-based schedule. If you take pride in preparing nutritious, home-style meals and thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen, we want to hear from you.

As a Camp Cook, you’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for our camp crew, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met. This is a camp based position, requiring you to live onsite during your scheduled work shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced meals for crews on site
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, dining area, and food storage areas
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies when required
  • Track and manage food inventory and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards
  • Bake fresh goods, snacks, and desserts as needed
  • Participate in general camp duties such as dishwashing and kitchen cleaning
  • Cleaning and maintaining camp, including daily cleaning of washrooms and weekly sheet changes.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a cook, preferably in a camp or institutional setting
  • Food Safe certification (required)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Physically fit - able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license considered an asset

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Independent, able to work with no supervision or assistance
  • Capable of ordering, menu planning, stocking etc.
  • Capable of cooking all meals for a 20-50 man crew
  • Comfortable with living and working in a remote camp for a few months at a time

Schedule & Camp Details:

  • Accommodations and meals provided onsite
  • Travel to and from camp may be provided
