Job summary

Athabasca Catering Limited Partnership is seeking a qualified cook for remote camp operations in Tuktoyaktuk, NT. The role involves batch cooking, line service, and ensuring meals meet company standards for daily operations.

Reporting to the site's Chef Manager, you’ll work 3-week in-and-out rotations, pass a drug test, and may travel from Saskatoon. Prior remote-camp kitchen experience and Food Safe certification are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is essential.
• Remote camp experience is a strong asset.
• Possession of Food Safe Certification is a strong asset.
• Experience with kitchen management in the service industry is an asset.
• Knowledge of Vegan, Halal & Gluten allergy variation cooking skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and batch cook for daily operations with the site team.
• Manage front-line setup and line cooking during meals.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen according to standards.
• Notify Chef on discard items and food saving needs.
• Perform duties safely and report incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

**CANDIDATES WITH A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE & REMOTE CAMP EXPERIENCE WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE.

**WE COVER YOUR TRAVEL (Flight from Saskatoon to Tuktoyaktuk), MEALS, & ACCOMMODATIONS.

**SHIFT WORK IS REQUIRED; WORK SCHEDULES ARE 3-WEEK IN-AND-OUT ROTATIONS.

**MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG & ALCOHOL TEST.

Reporting to the site's Chef Manager, you will prepare sufficient meals, including batch cooking for daily operations (based on site numbers). You will work with the chef to ensure company standards are met. Duties include:

• Determine the amounts of proteins to pull from freezer.


• Provide meat caring service on the line during busy times.


• Ensure all foods are ready and cook for mealtimes.


• Maintain a clean & safe kitchen according to standards.


• Ensure 3rd cook is notified of food to save; inform Chef on what's to be discarded.


• Assign & direct activities, per Chefs directives.


• Set up front line for meals.


• Conduct all duties in a safe manner; report all incidents.


• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
