Fox Exploration Ltd. is seeking a Camp Cook for a relief posting at a Yukon mineral exploration camp near Dawson City. You will coordinate catering, supervise kitchen staff, and provide remote site first aid duties as needed.

Applicants should have at least two years in a remote camp, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team. Rotational shifts and room-and-board are provided.

  • Create menus reflecting site preferences; manage inventory.
  • Maintain food safety and clean, organized preparation areas.
  • Order and store groceries; liaise with suppliers.
  • Provide orientation to incoming kitchen staff.

CAMP COOK / FIRST AID ATTENDANT

Fox Exploration Ltd. is accepting applications for an experienced Camp Cook to fill a relief position at a mineral exploration camp located near Dawson City in the Yukon Territory. Fox Exploration provides project management and support personnel to various clients in the natural resources sector. Job Requirements:

As the 1st Camp Cook you will play a key role at one of our remote mineral exploration camp by coordinating all catering services and providing remote site first aid duties. This position requires an individual who is highly organized and who works well independently and within a team setting. This position reports directly to the Camp Manager. Transportation to and from the job site will be provided on a rotational basis along with room and board while in camp. A Cook's Helper will be provided.

Camp Cook Responsibilities:
  • Prepare daily meals for camp of approx. 50 personnel.
  • Supervise the 2nd Cook and other kitchen staff to help with food preparation and cleaning duties.
  • Prepare baked goods and desserts made from scratch.
  • Communicate with camp staff and create menus that reflect site preferences.
  • Efficiently maintain food inventory for projected camp personnel numbers.
  • Adhere to the camp's Food Safety Plan.
  • Order, receive and properly store grocery orders.
  • Liaise with grocers for quality, quantity and back orders.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean food preparation and storage area.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.
  • Provide facility orientation to incoming kitchen staff.
Required Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum of two years working in a remote camp as a Camp Cook.
  • Organizational and management skills
  • Able to train / oversee a helper in the kitchen.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work long shifts.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
  • Culinary Diploma and/or Red Seal Designation preferred.
Schedule & Rotation:

Anticipated Start: August 8, 2026 for an estimated 3 week rotation.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience

Preference will be given to applicants from Yukon, BC and Alberta due to logistical factors.
