Position Summary:

The Cabinet Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall management of the Shop, including but not limited to: timely production of millwork; inventory management; employees on production, service, repair, reconditioning, assembling, installation and delivery of new and used millwork and associated equipment. This individual will supervise the Shop production and employees to ensure the performance of quality work while adhering to timelines, productivity, profitability, customer management and satisfaction. They may be required to conduct product quality assurance and employee performance reviews and provide them with additional training or coaching as needed and is accountable for following all safety and company policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Duties:
  • Organize, supervise, lead and train employees to complete projects within established timeframes.
  • Keep accurate written documentation of work performed, including safety issues.
  • Ensure job‑site safety is maintained.
  • Comply with company policies and safety requirements.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with the President to establish goals, timelines and expectations.
  • Coordinate and supervise all Shop‑related activities.
  • Oversee and verify deliveries and receivables.
  • Helps maintain cleanliness and safety of the property.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Journeyman Cabinet Maker, Carpenter or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory or management role.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time.
  • Technical understanding of residential and commercial construction including building codes, trade sequencing and best building practices.
  • Ability to problem solve and deal with complex detailed projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Ability to read blueprints and cabinet drawings.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools and CNC.

Work Conditions:
  • 44 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 7‑4:30pm (subject to change)
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
  • May be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi‑limb coordination.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
  • Hazards associated with the construction industry.
