Buyer II
Where will you work: Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Buyer II will perform bidding activities for services and certain non-stock materials. Support activities associated in cost savings and participate in negotiations, resource sharing, etc. Build vendor partnerships and work with the business unit to capture savings from supply contracts and strategic sourcing agreements. Communicate with plant personnel, confirm pricing with suppliers, monitor delivery and review invoicing, expedite delivery, when necessary, reconcile deliveries with invoicing and provide accrual documents for financial closing. Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers. Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.
Communicate with plant personnel to understand and react to their procurement needs. Negotiate with suppliers to provide internal customers with the best solution for meeting materials and service needs, considering suitable quality, acceptable delivery and best overall price. Identify, attain and record cost savings through effective negotiations, resource sharing and other efficiencies. Help to build vendor partnerships and work with business unit and other corporate resources to develop and enhance overall purchasing strategies. Collaborate with accounting department to assure timely satisfaction of invoices at optimum payment terms.
Represent Purchasing Department in various projects devoted to enhancing return on investment for Mosaic shareholders.
Maintain sites' purchase agreements. Responsible for expediting ordering, dealing with shipment inconsistencies and handling freight arrangements. Execute purchase agreements of various sorts, contracts, releases and standard orders, assuring timely delivery with optimum value.
Assist in the development, implementation and enhancement of BU maintenance and operations purchasing strategies. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Conduct competitive quotations for operations projects, for services and non-stock materials, assisting internal customers with specifications and bid analysis, and selecting highest-value suppliers as part of a procurement team. Procure rental equipment, labor and other requirements, across the entire spectrum of commodities required to operate a major industrial plant
High School Degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, and Management.
1+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Communication and Team Building experience.
Procurement experience - 3-8 Years
Demonstrated knowledge of procurement of industrial materials, including pipe, valves and fittings, heavy mobile equipment, bearing and power transmission components, electrical, mine and mill supplies, chemicals, safety supplies, and process equipment.
Must be an interactive team player with continual focus on improvement in procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Above average organization and time management skills.
Ability to analyze information and make decisions accordingly.
SAP Ariba
Microsoft Office Suite - 5-8 Years
US/ Canada - APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals - preferred
Professional sourcing certification from a recognized firm - preferred
