This is a Hybrid work opportunity.
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, you will be responsible for delivering profitable growth through selling a suite of solutions in a unified way while also managing the existing portfolio.
This comprises the development of an intimate knowledge of a given distributor's business model and proposition.
The Business Development Leader would also be responsible for creating customized business plans that optimize identified opportunities aligning with our market basket strategies.

- Responsible for sales targets: aggressively seek new and renewal account opportunities and collaborate with a team of sales specialists and underwriters to facilitate closing the opportunity.
- Conduct discussions with distributors to develop detailed and accurate distributor profiles and business plans.
- Complete and maintain detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors, identifying growth areas that align with the company's insurance products and services.
- Build strong business relationships at multiple levels within the distributor's organization.
- Conduct regular sales calls with distributors and internal teams, aligned with opportunity and need.
- Work with Business Units to execute distributor business plans.
- Conduct periodic reviews with distributors and manage their performance to ensure plan execution.
- Qualify accounts to meet the company's risk appetite.
- Negotiate with underwriters to close accounts with distributors.
- Drive and manage processes to increase product density at existing accounts.
- Build internal relationships with the company's Business Units to facilitate a unified market approach.
- Serve as the escalation point for distributor service and business issues.
- Manage the sales pipeline.
- Achieve goals related to sales calls, submissions, hit ratios, and production.
- Execute sales strategies and campaigns effectively.
- Travel within Southwestern Ontario (London, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area), prioritizing in-person activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience in Sales or Underwriting.
- 7 or more years of experience in Sales or Underwriting.
- Leadership experience with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to execute effective sales strategies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate critical business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the Southwestern Ontario Canadian insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective.
