Job summary

WorkSafeNB is seeking a bilingual Case Manager (English/French) to support injured workers across New Brunswick. This permanent role involves assessing needs, coordinating return-to-work plans, and liaising with employers, healthcare providers, and unions to access medical and vocational services.

Qualifications

• University degree required; health-related sciences or social sciences degree considered an asset.
• Five years of experience in medical management, disability management, vocational counseling or related work.
• Certification in disability management within two years or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of social agencies and benefits such as EI, CPP Disability.
• Experience interpreting and implementing legislation and policy is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of workers and administer benefits under Workers' Compensation Act.
• Lead development of a goal-oriented return-to-work plan with workers and employers.
• Coordinate with health-care providers, unions, and service providers for medical and vocational services.
• Manage assigned caseloads and prepare plain language decisions.
• Make entitlement decisions and communicate in writing and verbally; authorize services and benefits.
• Defend decisions in writing when approving or denying compensation.
