Job summary

Dakota Dunes Resort is seeking an experienced Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service. You will prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks while maintaining a welcoming bar environment and adhering to responsible service standards.

You will verify IDs, process orders and payments via the POS system, manage inventory, and collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth peak-time service. This role requires flexibility and strong customer service focus.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Valid Serve It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages per recipes.
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with liquor laws and responsible beverage service practices.
  • Process orders and payments using the POS system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar, including replenishing liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of stock shortages or ordering needs.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixes, and other bar ingredients to ensure efficient service.
  • Follow all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve service issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and fellow bartenders to ensure seamless service during peak periods.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation, cleaning, and securing the bar area.
  • Maintain knowledge of current beverage menus, seasonal promotions, and resort events to provide recommendations and enhance the guest experience.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment while supporting resort standards of excellence.
